Seeking New Jersey Voter Turnout Intern

Role Description

Turnout Nation is is an all volunteer, zero-budget, non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to increasing voter turnout in every election by helping people help their friends to vote in an organized, measurable, and scalable way.

Interns will be enrolled in a college in New Jersey and work with and within their college to identify organizations, teams, Greek letter organizations, and clubs that can commit to encourage a designated group of their members to volunteer to help ten friends to vote.

Role Description

This is a part time remote volunteer position requiring a commitment of one to two hours each week day during the summer months, and one hour each weekday in September, and October. Responsibilities will be daily contact with members of state teams and the National Coordinators as well as recruiting, on-boarding, and assisting volunteers.

Qualifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Community outreach and engagement experience
Passion for democracy and civic engagement
Ability to work independently and remotely
Ability to work as a member of a focused and coordinated national team
Proficiency in using technology and social media for outreach
Interest in voter turnout and mobilization efforts
Experience in political science, community organizing, or related field is a plus
Leadership positions past or present a plus
Interest in data science, digital design, or statistics a plus
